Traveling is fun, except when it comes to the scale. it is enjoyable to be in a new place, seeing new sites, eating new foods, but it can be really tough to try to lose weight when on the road. At least that is the case for me.
I find that I need to be realistic and realize that I'm probably going to gain weight when I'm traveling. Is this a self-fulfilling prophecy? Maybe. But it has been my experience, so why get discouraged when it happens?
I think the better strategy is to give myself grace, but to try to minimize the weight gain. That keeps me from throwing in the towel completely and thinking, "Well, I've already blown it so it doesn't matter what I do at this point. I might as well eat whatever I want." No, I can't fall into that kind of thinking. I need to fight the temptation to take a vacation from my plan. I can be realistic, but I can, and should, continue the fight.
What do you do to fight the temptation to give up when you travel?
