Not Having A Plan Wasn't A Good Idea

255.0 pounds, + 1.4 pounds, - 78.0 pounds overall, 13.0 pounds to go to reach my goal of losing 20 pounds by January 1st.

Following 2 out of 3 parts of my dailly plan wasn't enough to lose weight, especially when that third part of the plan involved eating.

I faced one of my greatest challenges last night and I didn't meet the occasion the way I should have. Maybe my approach was all wrong, I don't know. What I do know is that at a wonderful Christmas party where everyone brings food to share, I ate. And I ate. And then I ate some more. People brought all kinds of great goodies to eat and I was in heaven as I ate a bit from almost every dish, and some multiple bites. The food and the night were both great, I enjoyed them both. It was fun to see old friends and to catch up. It was fun to eat anything and everything I wanted, without abandon.

The question is what to do in the future with situations like this. I don't want to not go to these events, but I also don't want to eat like there is no tomorrow. I need to come up with a strategy, like having one plate of food that I enjoy and eating just that one throughout the night, regardless of how much food from others that I have to pass on.

Now is the time to move forward. I have a big opportunity in front of me this week to lose weight before Christmas. This is the time to do it. I'm excited to get out of the 250s. That's my goal for the week.
