253.6 pounds, + 0.6 pounds, - 79.4 pounds overall, 11.6 pounds to go to reach my goal of losing 20 pounds by January 1st.
When you don't follow a proven plan you will likely gain weight. That is exactly what happened yesterday. I did 2 of the three parts of my plan correctly, but I didn't do the most important thing. I had a full night of sleep, I exercised, but I also ate after 5 p.m. I wasn't surprised to have gained 0.6 pounds on the scale this morning.
Today is going to be a really challenging day. It is really cold outside with the high temperature only being 1 degree and the windchill is well below zero. Needless to say, I'm not going outside like I would like. Normally, I would either go for a walk or, since we have received almost a foot of snow, I would go cross country skiing. It is too cold for either of those activities.
I'm glad that I am able to workout indoors. I have a treadmill I can use and free weights as well. I hope to use both today.
The biggest challenge of the day will occur this evening. We are going to a Christmas party where everyone brings something for people to eat. Events like this normally result in me eating like I haven't eaten in a week. I'm worried about this and I'm not sure how to handle it.
How do you deal with events where you are in danger of eating too much?
