244.2 pounds, - 0.3 pounds today, - 88.8 pounds overall, 11.2 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds.
Yesterday was a challenge for me because I had been out of my routine and hadn’t walked in a number of days. Getting back into the rhythm of walking for 2 miles was difficult—not physically, but mentally. My healthy routine had been replaced by an unhealthy one, and the struggle was real.
But I fought the inertia. I pushed past the resistance, got moving, and went for my walk. And once I did, I felt great. I was so glad I made that choice. That single act of getting back out there reminded me how much better I feel when I’m consistent.
What did I learn? Inconsistent routines—whether caused by travel, social events, or holidays—can easily disrupt momentum. The key is to recognize it quickly and fight hard to get back into healthy habits.
Momentum builds through movement. And even when it feels tough to start again, one good choice has the power to reignite progress.
The hardest step is the first one. But once you take it, you remember why it’s worth it.
