244.7 pounds, - 0.6 pounds today, - 88.3 pounds overall, 11.7 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds.

Yesterday was a difficult day for me. Four days ago, I did squats for the first time in ages. Even though I only did a few sets of ten reps and barely used any extra weight, I couldn’t believe how much pain I was in for the next three days from the buildup of lactic acid.

I ended up not walking two days ago, partly because of the soreness, but yesterday I pushed myself to go for a walk. The start of my two-mile walk was painful, but by the time I finished, I was feeling great. And today, I feel awesome.

Even better, I lost 0.6 pounds since yesterday, which feels like a reward for pushing through and staying consistent.

The moral of the story is simple: listen to your body. Pain is your body’s way of saying to take it easy, but that doesn’t mean stop completely. Keep your momentum going as much as possible.

Sometimes progress means pushing through discomfort, and sometimes it means resting when you need to. The key is knowing the difference. Yesterday reminded me that even when movement starts out hard, it often ends up being exactly what I need.

P.S. What helps you stay motivated to move when your body is sore or tired?
