249.3 pounds, + 0.5 pounds today, - 83.7 pounds overall, 16.3 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds!
I tried to lighten my load in the weighted vest for my 2-mile walk, but it wasn’t enough. I had the same experience as the day before—I finished my walk and came home famished. I ended up eating too much, and the scale showed a 0.5-pound gain.
On top of that, the walk felt like a chore instead of something I enjoyed. That’s not what I want. Walking has always been an activity I’ve looked forward to, and I don’t want to lose that.
So I think I’m going to take a step back and try a few walks without the vest to get the fun back. At the end of the day, sustainability matters more than intensity.
I’m curious—if you’ve ever walked with a weighted vest, what has your experience been, good or bad? Do you have any advice to help me keep the joy in walking without working up a massive appetite afterward?
Lesson learned: Fitness should be challenging, but it should also be enjoyable.
