248.8 pounds, + 0.5 pounds today, - 84.2 pounds overall, 15.8 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds!
I learned a lesson the hard way yesterday. I upped my weight vest by 12 pounds, bringing it to 36, and the result wasn’t great. My 2-mile hike was more difficult than usual, and I realized I had jumped up in weight too quickly. My knees definitely felt the added strain, though I did manage to finish the hike. It was certainly a workout compared to walking with no vest.
The bigger challenge came afterward. By the time I got home, I was starving. I had burned more calories than usual and ended up eating like a horse. Honestly, I’m surprised I only gained 0.5 pounds.
Today I’m adjusting. I’m going to take 6 pounds out of the vest and see how that feels. The key is to keep trying, keep learning, and keep moving forward. Progress isn’t about never stumbling—it’s about finding the balance that works and sticking with it.
Lesson learned: Small, steady steps beat big leaps.
