247.1 pounds, - 1.0 pounds today, - 85.9 pounds overall, 14.1 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds!

I followed my plan yesterday and the scale rewarded me this morning with a 1-pound loss. That brings me to just 14 pounds away from my goal of losing 100 pounds, and I could not be more excited.

It wasn’t easy. I had a full day of work, then rushed straight to the state park to get in my 2-mile walk before heading out to meet friends and watch the Vikings play the Bears. By the time I arrived, the snacks were already out, and I know myself well enough to understand that even one bite would have been a slippery slope. One taste, and I would have had a hard time stopping until I was uncomfortably full.

So instead, I made the choice to have none at all. That was my victory. I walked away from the night feeling proud of myself, not weighed down with regret. Honestly, even if the scale hadn’t moved, I would still call that a huge win.

But seeing the scale drop another pound this morning was the perfect bonus. It proved that consistency pays off.

Tonight, I may not be able to get my walk in since the forecast is calling for rain. But I know I can stick with intermittent fasting and stop eating after 5 p.m. Small choices, repeated daily, are what move me closer to the finish line.

Fourteen pounds to go. One good decision at a time.
