A Hard Lesson at the Buffet. 247.4 pounds, + 0..6 pounds today, - 85.8 pounds overall, 7.4 pounds from my next goal

I followed my plan yesterday—intermittent fasting and a solid 2-mile walk—but the scale still went up. So what happened?

The truth is, I ate too much when I finally did eat. I was at an event with a buffet (and the food was amazing), but I ate too fast. I didn’t give my brain enough time to catch up with my stomach, and before I knew it, I was heading back for seconds—a plate just as full as the first.

What did I expect?

This was a good reminder that even when you’re doing a lot of things right, portion control and mindfulness still matter. The lesson? Slow down. Enjoy the food. Give your body time to recognize fullness.

Today will be another challenge. I’ve got business meetings where food will be served, and I know from experience that I don’t do well in these types of settings—no set portions, lots of options, and plenty of opportunity to overeat.

My plan:
• Eat slowly
• Drink lots of water
• Be intentional with my portions
• Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule as best I can

Every day is a chance to improve—not just the number on the scale, but how I handle situations like these.
