I’ve known this truth for a long time—but it really hit me hard yesterday:
You can’t outrun (or outwalk) a bad diet.
I walked 2 miles in the heat, but I didn’t intermittent fast and I ate way too much during my meals. This morning, the scale reminded me of that reality with a 1.1-pound gain.
The scale doesn’t lie—and I can’t just hope the weight away. I have to face it head-on.
The truth is, unless I’m training like an Olympic athlete (which I’m definitely not), exercise is only 20% of the weight loss equation. Diet is the other 80%. That’s where the real change happens.
We’ve had a lot of family gatherings lately, and those moments—while joyful—make it harder to stay disciplined. But that doesn’t mean I have to throw in the towel.
Today is a new day.
Today is a chance to get back on track, to focus on intermittent fasting, and to eat with intention. I’m not giving up. I’m moving forward.
