I thought I was doing the right thing yesterday—but looking back, I realize I set myself up for failure.

We attended a beautiful wedding that started at 4 p.m., and since I knew the food would be amazing, I decided to skip breakfast and lunch to "save up" for the meal. What I didn’t anticipate was how hard it would be to go that long without eating. By the time dinner was finally served around 6 p.m., I was starving—and I had already eaten too many salty snacks trying to curb the hunger.

The result? I overate at dinner. And the scale showed it this morning: a 2.2-pound gain. That makes 4 pounds gained in just two days. Ugh.

The day itself was wonderful—great food, great people—but I’ve come to see these moments differently now. In the past, I might’ve shrugged it off as “just a fun night.” But now, as I work toward becoming healthier, I see it as a learning experience. I should have had a small, balanced meal earlier in the day to avoid getting so hungry and losing control. That one change could’ve made all the difference.

Today is a new day.

It’s beautiful outside, and I’m heading out for a walk—my first in three days. I’m also sticking to my intermittent fasting plan. If I can do those two things, I’m confident I’ll be back on track and see progress again.

This journey isn’t about perfection—it’s about learning, growing, and moving forward
