Yesterday was a truly wonderful day. I didn’t get my walk in, but I stuck with intermittent fasting, and we had most of our family together for a delicious meal of kabobs and rice. We ended the night around a fire with s’mores—and I had one for the first time in ages. It was perfect.
Did I probably eat too many kabobs? Yes. Did the s’more help with weight loss? Definitely not. But I don’t regret it. Nights like that are meant to be enjoyed, and I wasn’t going to miss out on sharing a great meal with the people I love.
As expected, the scale was up this morning—1.9 pounds gained. But that’s okay. Life includes moments like this. The key is to enjoy them without letting them become the norm.
Today, it’s time to get back on track. We’re heading to a wedding, and I already know the food will be amazing. My plan is to fast beforehand and hopefully get in a walk before the event. If I can do that, I’ll feel good about how I approached the day.
We’ll see what happens—and we’ll see what the scale says tomorrow morning. One meal, one day, one decision at a time.
