Holiday weekends can be tough when you're trying to lose weight. There’s often lots of food, less structure, and fewer chances to get in exercise—and all of that adds up to what feels like inevitable weight gain.
But maybe that’s not failure. Maybe, during these kinds of weekends, the goal shifts: minimize the gain, enjoy the moment, and stay mentally committed to your bigger picture.
I'm not too disappointed. I’ve been making memories with my family, and that matters. And more importantly—I know I’m getting right back to my routine tomorrow. That’s the difference this time. A holiday weekend doesn’t mean I’ve lost progress. It just means I hit pause for a moment.
