I followed my intermittent fasting plan, I got outside, I moved my body — and the scale only moved down 0.1 pound.
At first, I was a little disappointed. But when I looked at how the day went, it made more sense. I didn’t walk yesterday like I normally do. Instead, I spent three peaceful hours kayaking down the St. Croix River.
It was absolutely beautiful out there — calm water, warm sun, and just enough breeze to make it feel perfect. But I’ll admit, I didn’t paddle that hard. It was more of a relaxing float than a workout. I guess that just goes to show how much more calorie-burning power walking has compared to light paddling.
Still, I wouldn’t trade yesterday for anything. It was a great day — time in nature, time to reflect, and a reminder that this journey isn’t just about numbers. It’s about living life more fully.
Today, I plan to lace up my shoes and get back to walking. I’m feeling motivated, and I’m hopeful I’ll see more movement on the scale tomorrow.
This is a long game. One step, one day, one choice at a time.
