This morning the scale showed I gained 0.5 pounds — and honestly, I’m okay with it.
After losing so much weight the day before, I expected a little rebound. The body does what it does. But the real reason I’m feeling happy today has nothing to do with the number on the scale.
I’m almost completely recovered from my IT band injury.
It’s been a long, frustrating road — six months of pain, rest, and not being able to move the way I wanted to. For someone who loves to walk, hike, and stay active, that limitation hit hard. But today, for the first time in what feels like forever, I can say I’m nearly 100% healed.
Going through this recovery has changed my perspective. I’ll never take walking for granted again. Something as simple as being able to move without pain feels like a gift — one I plan to honor.
I’m excited to get back into an exercise routine, but I know I need to ease in slowly. No rushing, no pushing too hard. The goal isn’t just to get moving again — it’s to stay healthy, strong, and injury-free.
So yes, the scale ticked up a little today. But I’m making progress in far more important ways. And that feels like a huge win.
If you’ve ever come back from an injury or setback, how did you pace yourself? I’d love to hear your tips as I start this next chapter.
