Yesterday was a really good day.
We celebrated Father’s Day with the family — and yes, that included homemade pizza (one of my favorite traditions). I enjoyed the day fully: the food, the laughs, the time together.
And this morning?
After a day of celebration and carbs, I stepped on the scale and saw that I only gained 0.4 pounds.
Only 0.4 — after a 2.2-pound loss the day before.
And honestly, I’m calling that a win.
What made the difference?
I think a big part of it was our two-mile family hike at a local state park. We got outside, moved our bodies, and spent quality time together — and it reminded me how much joy and progress can happen at the same time.
I’ve had weekends in the past where a celebration like that would’ve sent me spiraling, or at the very least, left me feeling bloated, discouraged, and out of sync. But not this time.
This time, I felt balanced.
This time, I made room for both celebration and self-care.
This time, I woke up feeling proud.
So yes — I had the pizza.
But I also stayed active, honored my intermittent fasting window, and most importantly, stayed connected to the bigger picture.
I’m happy with my progress, and even happier with how I handled the day.
And now I’m heading into this new week with momentum, motivation, and a sense of peace.
If you celebrated this weekend, I hope you were able to find that same balance — to enjoy your people and your progress at the same time.
Here’s to a new week filled with intention, small wins, and forward motion.
We’ve got this.
