I lost 0.8 pounds yesterday.
And while that number makes me smile, what makes me proud is something deeper:

I brought my scale with me.

I’m on the road right now — traveling, living out of a suitcase, navigating restaurants, snacks, and long drives. The kind of trip that has thrown me off track in the past. But this time is different.

Because I’ve learned my lesson.

On a previous trip, I didn’t bring my scale. I avoided checking in with myself, convinced that skipping a few weigh-ins wouldn’t matter. But it did. I came home up 5 pounds in 6 days — and even more frustrated with myself for pretending not to notice.

This time? I’m choosing honesty.
I’m choosing consistency.
I’m choosing to stay connected to my goals, even when I’m away from home.

Bringing the scale was a small decision, but it’s made a big difference.
It keeps me grounded. It reminds me that I can still make progress, no matter where I am. It’s not about obsessing — it’s about accountability.

So yes, I’m on the road. But I’m still showing up.
I’m still honoring my intermittent fasting window.
I’m still making mindful choices.
And I’m still stepping on that scale each morning, not with fear — but with focus.

Today’s loss of 0.8 pounds is a victory, but the real win is the mindset behind it:
I’m not starting over again. I’m staying in it.

If you’re traveling, struggling, or feeling off-course — remember, every decision is a chance to come back to yourself. You don’t have to wait until you’re home. You don’t have to wait until Monday. You can ground yourself wherever you are.

Even on the road. Even in a hotel. Even today.
