Today is National Quitters Day. Hooray! What is that, you may ask? The second Friday after the first of the year is the day when most people quit their New Years resolutions. Today is that day in 2025. Are you participating, or maybe even celebrating? Not me.

I've come to far, and I have even farther to go, to quit now. I plan on losing 100 pounds, and then going for my next goal, and then the next. To quit now would be ridiculous. I'm not quitting and I hope you don't either.

Yesterday was a great day. I followed my plan perfectly and I was rewarded on the scale this morning. I slept for 8 hours, I exercised in Zone 2 for 30 minutes, and I didn't eat after 5 p.m. That last part was a real challenge as my wife made the rest of the home made ravioli she had in the freezer from Christmas. I didn't give in to that temptation and I'm so glad I didn't.

Today is going to be a challenge. I have a full day of work to keep me busy and then tonight my wife is making a turkey dinner. We purchased two at Thanksgiving but only prepared one, so tonight is the night for the second turkey. The house smells amazing and I can't wait to dig into the meal. I know that I am going to gain weight today, but that is alright since I lost so much weight since the beginning of the year. I just don't want to overdue it with my turkey consumption. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
