Big losses are always fun, especially when you had to fight to achieve them. The harder the fight the sweeter the victory. 

Yesterday I had a battle on my hands. Weekend days are always tough with a lack of structure to keep me busy. Last night we watched a movie and this is typically when I eat a huge bucket of popcorn covered in butter with salt and generous portions of parmesan cheese added to it. This typically brings my weight loss efforts to an end. Not yesterday.

I fought my feelings like crazy and I won. I wanted to popcorn so bad last night but I kept thinking about hopping on the scale this morning and I was able to not indulge my feelings like I normally would. It felt great to make the right decision and to be rewarded this morning. 

Today is going to be another tough day. It is another really cold day outside and I am probably going to be watching a lot of football today, with the Vikings game tonight capping everything off. The most difficult part of the day is going to be containing myself with one of my favorite meals, wild rice soup. My wife makes a huge amount and it is amazing. I could eat a gallon of it. I hope I don't.

My strategy is going to be to take a small bowl to begin with and to eat it really slowly, savoring every bite. Then I'm going to hold off for as long as I can before I get another bowl, allowing my brain to catch up with my stomach in terms of feeling full. If I don't follow these strategies I'm done for and I'll gain a lot of weight. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
