The weekend is always the hardest part of the week for me in terms of losing weight. It is not unusual for to do well during the week, only to have that progress moved back some over the weekend. I need to prepare myself mentally for the challenges the weekend presents so that this doesn't get out of hand. That is my main strategy: forewarned is forearmed.

This weekend is going to be especially difficult for me because my daughter is home from college and we will be eating like kings. We normally eat well, but whenever our kids are home my wife kicks it up a notch. Any meal where I can get by with eating a normal portion of food, or not eating at all, is a win. I hope to not eat after 5 p.m., but I don't think that is likely to happen.

I followed my plan perfectly yesterday and I didn't eat after 5 p.m. and I was rewarded on the scale this morning. I would love to have the same thing happen again, but I'm not confident about that given my daughter being home and the feasting that will take place because of it. We'll see what happens today, and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
