Today is election day. This is a very important day and one that everyone should take seriously. Get out and vote, if you haven't already. I hesitate to endorse anyone, but in this case I'm going to make an exception. The candidate I'm endorsing is YOU.

Vote for yourself today. More specifically, vote for your health. I've voted for myself already, but then I realized that I need to vote for my health not just once, but every day. Each day I have a decision to make, whether I'm going to make decisions in favor of my health or if I'm going to decide to vote in favor of other things besides my health. Either way, I'm in control of how I vote, and so are you.

Yesterday was a great day. I followed my plan perfectly and I was rewarded on the scale this morning. I followed my plan perfectly by getting 8 hours of sleep, not eating after 5 p.m., and exercising. I haven't exercised in a long time because of the strain to my IT band in my left leg, but I decided to have a light workout on my recumbent bike and that contributed to my losing over 1 pound. I feel great and I hope to do the same thing again today.

Today is going to be a difficult day, but a good day. I have a full day of work to keep me busy but then tonight there will be all the stress of the election coverage to watch. I enjoy watching the results and analysis, but the stress of it all makes me want to sooth my anxiety with food. If I give in to that temptation I'm going to gain weight. I need to resolve to not eat after 5 p.m. and I hope that I can lose weight again. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
