I don't believe it is possible to lose weight if you don't pay attention to what you eat. Your weight is a result of what you eat and how much you exercise, with the majority of the responsibility for weight being in what you consume. Therefore, if you are going to lose weight you need to have an understanding of what you are eating, how much you are eating, and when you are eating, so that you can modify your food intake and lose weight.
Yesterday I followed my plan and I lost over a pound on the scale this morning. My plan is pretty simple: get 8 hours of sleep, 30 minutes of light exercise, and don't eat after 5 p.m. Of course, if I eat like a pig before 5 p.m. then I will gain weight even if I don't eat after 5 p.m., so what I eat matters. I'm not really strict about what I eat, but I know that if I follow my plan and I don't lose weight then it is likely because I ate the wrong thing or I ate too much food. I'm glad that yesterday I chose wisely and I lost weight. I need to keep doing that.
Today should be a great day. I have a full day of work to keep me busy and I have chores around the house tonight to help me burn off energy and keep me from eating after 5 p.m. If I can do these things I should lose weight. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
