And so it begins, the most difficult week of the year. Thanksgiving week is a challenge for me unlike any other. Christmas comes close, but this week is especially hard for me because the entire week in our house is dedicated to having large amounts of wonderful food available to eat for every meal, not just on Thanksgiving. My wife is an amazing cook and so the challenge is on and it starts today. I need to have a game plan together to deal with all of this temptation. It won't be easy, but I need to try to not eat more than I need to.
Yesterday was a great day. I managed to not eat after 5 p.m. and I exercised and I was rewarded on teh scale this morning. I didn't expect to lose more weight since I was really hungry during the day and I at a lot to curb my hunger. The good news is that I didn't eat anything terrible and I didnt' eat after 5 p.m., so that, combined with exercising, allowed me to make more progress.
Today is going to be a difficult day. We are having two of my favorite meals, starting with wild rice soup followed by beef brisket that is currently in the smoker. How do you eat a normal portion of either of these meals. That is my challenge and the struggle is real. I really want to get below 250 pounds and to stay there all week. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
