Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks for all of the blessings that we enjoy, and it is also a time to give grace, to ourselves. Thanksgiving, like other special occasions, is not a time to dwell on losing weight and to not enjoy food and fellowship with family. Even though I've worked hard to lose weight, I'm not going to make a scene and be "that guy" who doesn't eat what has been lovingly prepared for me and everyone else. This is a time to relax and spend time with the ones you love, so give yourself grace about your weight loss journey, at least for today.

Yesterday was a great day for me. I had great business meetings for work. One involved lunch and the meal I had at Heather's did not disappoint. Last night the entire family was together and we had a wonderful meal. I ate more than I should have, and I also had a peppermint ice cream bar from the pack that I picked up at Costco for the family. I enjoyed myself so much that I gained 2 pounds on the scale this morning!

Today is going to be a wonderful day. My wife is a fabulous cook and our Thanksgiving meal is going to be extraordinary. I am going to enjoy every bite. I'm going to gain weight. The only question is how much. I hope to pace myself and not eat way more than I should. I'm also hoping to go on a hike or two today to try to burn off calories. It is pretty cold outside with highs only in the 20s, so hiking might be tough. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
