The end of the month is a great time to look back and reflect on what you've learned. I look back on this month and think of all the weight I lost, only to have most of that progress erased by letting myself go over Thanksgiving week. I had been down nearly 10 pounds this month, but gaining 6 pounds at Thanksgiving really set me back. Lesson learned: don't let yourself go completely. Have some restraint. I need to keep that in mind for Christmas when the cycle of feasting repeats itself.
Yesterday was a great day. I went into the day thinking that I wasn't going to eat much of anything, but of course, all of the leftovers called my name and I had a huge plate full of food. I was able to keep from eating as much as the day before so I did lose some weight. Progress always feels good.
Today is going to be a great day. The family is still all together so that is the biggest blessing of all. We will be picking up our Christmas tree today and it is bitterly cold outside. I want to keep from eating too much. If I can control myself I hope to lose weight again. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
