Have you ever had things in your life you are so excited about that you feel like a kid waiting for Christmas? I feel that way more and more as I get closer to my goals. I am less than 10 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds, but I have a goal before that: to no longer be obese.

According to the U.S. Government standards, I am obese. I had been morbidly obese, but now I am just "obese." The good news? I am less than 2 pounds from not being obese and simply being "overweight." This will be a big milestone for me and I am so excited to be this close. I can't stop now. I need to keep my foot on the gas to make this happen.

Yesterday was a great day. I followed my plan perfectly. I didn't eat after 5 p.m., I had a full night of restful sleep, and I exercised in Zone 2 for 30 minutes. I have experienced added benefits from my exercise like being able to sleep better at night, having more energy during the day, and more importantly for me right now, treating the IT band pain in my left leg. This pain robbed me of a lot of sleep the other night, but right now it has gone away. It had come back for a few days when I wan't able to exercise, so I am thankful that it has gone away again.

The greatest benefit of my Zone 2 exercise is that it turns my body into a fat burning machine. It is amazing how much it helps me to lose weight. I'm excited to keep this up!

Today is going to be a good day but with some challenges. It is freezing cold outside (it was -15 degrees when I woke up this morning) so it will be an indoor day. Days like this make me want to hibernate, so I am going try not to watch too much television today and do some other things. I don't want to mindlessly eat so I need to keep myself busy. If I can keep from eating after 5 p.m. I hope to lose weight again today. We'll see what happens today and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning!
